[Catching Up (Pilot)]

this is such an uncomfortable thing to watch. many in this here review section have agreed that watching this odd mouse kid be beat down for 20 minutes is an unfunny slog. this kind of thing feels as though it should be less than half as long and less than half as loud.

you were lucky to know many people who were willing to help you put this thing together, but no amount of technical polish could salvage the foundation of unpleasant art this cartoon is built upon. seeing designs so ugly and juvenile be puppet animated and composited by a team feels uncanny, like a group of somewhat capable people are having to work with a child’s art. no aspect of this looks particularly good.

imagine my shock after i had been gracious enough to leave a review on this one hundred thousand million billion year long piece of shit and i return to see what i had wrote had been REMOVED. if you’re responsible for the removal of my review, Mr. Mark, i’ll have you know that such an attitude is fundamentally antithetical to the identity of this site in every way. you’re on the front page, you’re sitting at above a 4.0 (people are too nice) and you have the gall to play God with reviews? you have done your part to weaken the heart of newgrounds, and while what you did alone was not much, it is people like you who will one day kill this website.

This cartoon is about a minute of Freezepark trying to set up an actual improv gag while flowjoe just keeps saying whatever comes to mind and effectively ruining whatever Freezepark was trying to execute. This could've been funny if a simple, understandable and well timed improv joke or scene was pulled off but it just wasn't. The animation was a mixed bag, when the cartoon started out there were really nice poses but not too much movement, towards the middle it started looking really good all around aside from a bit of messy line art, but at the end it seems corners were cut or Freeze got a bit lazy, there were simple boring poses and little to no movement. I would've liked to see this idea executed a bit better. It's almost like this was rushed to meet a deadline. I wouldn't feel right rating this any higher than a 2.5.

Not my sense of humor, and it visually wasn't very great. You did get to the punchline pretty quickly. though, so at least you didn't drag it out.

This was just a quick idea I wanted to knock out, so animation wise, it was as good as I wanted it to be and there was no real reason for me to try and make this my best work ever. I understand not everybody likes gross or shocking humor, but I do and if it makes me laugh, i do it.
